The Release Date
NVIDIA Announced during CES 2023 their newest GPU to add to their Ada Lovelace lineup, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti. After a controversial announcement of having two RTX 4080s, NVIDIA unreleased the 12GB variant. Now the RTX 4070 Ti is born!
The 4070 Ti hits shelves on January 5th, 2023 with an MSRP of $799. This time around, NVIDIA will not release a Founder’s Edition of this GPU, therefore, the GPUs will all be built by 3rd party board partners like ZOTAC, MSI, GIGABYTE, ASUS, PNY, and more. Keep in mind that this means that the price you see on the shelves will more than likely have a markup from $799.
Specs and Tech
The NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti will feature the same capabilities as the other 40-series GPUs with DLSS 3.0, and Shader Execution Reordering. It features next-generation Tensor Cores for AI acceleration and Ray Tracing cores for added performance for ray-traced applications. NVIDIA leverages its AI prowess and weaves it into DLSS 3.0 which enables the RTX 4070 Ti to generate transition frames between 2 real frames for a smoother more immersive gaming experience.

The graph shows that the 4070 Ti is a step under the 4080 while delivering a decent upgrade over the 3070 Ti. While clock speeds are high and TDP is down, we are skeptical about the bus width of the card which could prove limitations on transfer speeds, especially when overclocked. While we do not have our own testing we do encourage readers to find 3rd party benchmarks for the 4070 Ti to gauge the performance you can expect from NVIDIA’s newest card.
